The tide of the barrage is turned, not by the mere force of the Lexiconians attempting to overcome the power of the Terroan flagship, but by the result of Wordgirl's brawl.
Wordgirl, amidst the barrage, downs the Squeaky Clone and makes to kick him into the abyss.
"You'd take the life of a poor, helpless soul like me?" says the clone in a pleading tone.
"What soul? You're just a souless monster," Wordgirl declares. "And I will take care of the rest of you in due course!"
With that, she kicks him into the abyss...
...but the clone doesn't get far. In its scramble to grab onto the hull, its tail snags into an engine port and...well, think of it like this (from 1:10 to 1:20):
